Features of Accessible Documents

  • Document has headings and structure
  • Images have Alternative (“Alt”) Text descriptions
  • Links have descriptive names that make sense out of context
  • Tables have row and column headings
  • Reading order of document is logical
  • Document has sufficient color contrast between text and background
  • Fonts are plain (sans-serif fonts are best) and large enough (12 points or larger)
